Actor Choo Young-woo turned his latest fan meeting into a night built around surprises. The rising Korean actor held his solo Seoul fan meeting, "2026 CHOO YOUNG WOO FANMEETING [CHOO-prise!] in SEOUL," across two shows on June 27 at Daeyang Hall, Sejong University, in Seoul's Gwangjin district.

The title "CHOO-prise!" mixes the actor's surname with the word "surprise." Choo leaned into that idea from the moment he walked on stage, opening the show with a band-backed live performance of Roy Kim's "Only Then." He told the audience he had spent a long time thinking about what kind of surprise gift he could give. He said he chose a band live set because he thought fans would enjoy it.

He then thanked his fandom directly. "I prepared this fan meeting to return the love I've received from Huchu," he said, using the official name for his fan base. He also shared updates fans had been waiting for, including his upcoming ENA Monday-Tuesday drama "Love Doctor" (Yeonae Baksa) and the Netflix series "Long Vacation," both set to air this year.

A segment called "CHOO-prise Unboxing" walked fans through his real daily routine. Choo then stepped down into the venue and worked both the first and second floors, getting closer to fans in the seats. Another segment played on the fact that it was close to his birthday, with the actor agreeing to whatever requests Huchu sent his way. He went along with a wide range of asks, leaning into the looser tone of the night. At the second show, he added a cake-decorating segment, decorating one live on stage.

Choo also opened a real-time chat room so he could message fans directly during the event. The two sides used it to settle on a name for his official lightstick together.

The music portion of the show was just as varied. Choo performed covers he had picked himself for fans, including Lee Juck's "Lie Lie Lie" (Geojitmal Geojitmal Geojitmal) and "Shall We Walk Together" (Gachi Georeulkka), Byun Jin-sub's "To a Lady" (Sungnyeoege), and Lee Suhyun's "Your Letter" (Yeonui Pyeonji). His soft vocals drew a strong response from the crowd, building on a reputation he has already earned by singing OSTs for his own projects.

"Lately I've been focused on filming, so I haven't been able to see fans often. Thank you so much for coming today," Choo told the audience. He said it felt hard to believe how much time had passed since his last fan meeting tour. He promised to keep working to be remembered as both a good actor and a good person, then gave fans a deep traditional bow.

Choo will continue the run overseas. His solo Japan fan meeting, "2026 CHOO YOUNG WOO FANMEETING [CHOO-prise!] in JAPAN," is set for July 20 at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo.
