IVE's Jang Won-young documented her departure for Japan on social media, weeks after an airport etiquette controversy stirred online debate. She posted a short video to her Instagram Story on the 23rd, captioning it only with a Japanese flag and an airplane emoji.

The clip shows Jang Won-young already on board the plane bound for Japan. What caught attention was her appearance. She filmed the moment without a mask or hat, an unusually open look for a top idol boarding a flight, especially after her recent airport scrutiny.

That scrutiny traces back to her departure for China on the 30th of last month. During immigration, Jang Won-young was seen crossing her arms in front of a staff member trying to verify her face, and reportedly grabbed her passport back in a sharp motion. The clip set off a wave of online arguments, with some users calling her behavior dismissive and others defending her as a frequently photographed celebrity navigating a routine process.

The Japan trip arrives during an active stretch for IVE. The group released its second full-length album, "REVIVE+," in February.
