The new Korean mystery drama "Speaking Dead" will make its debut at the 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN). The series stars Han Suk-kyu and Jung Yu-mi, and the festival marks its first public screening.

"Speaking Dead" follows forensic scientist Jang Jae-wook, played by Han Suk-kyu, who is named as a suspect in a high-profile terror case. His confession sets off a search for the truth behind an incident buried more than a decade ago.

BIFAN runs from July 2 to July 12. The drama has been invited to a new festival section called Fantascape, which spotlights work across genres such as comedy, romance, and fantasy. The screening will be the first time Korean audiences can see the series.

Demand was immediate. When official ticketing opened on the 25th, all 170 seats for the "Speaking Dead" screening sold out within five minutes.

A launch poster released alongside the festival news features the main cast: forensic scientist Jang Jae-wook (Han Suk-kyu), a profiler (Jung Yu-mi), a prosecutor (Lee Hee-joon), an investigation chief (Yeom Hye-ran), and a judge advocate (Kim Jun-han). The characters are shown against the Gwanghwamun skyline above the tagline "The truth has been hidden," setting up the show's mystery tone. Ryu Hye-young also appears as a social affairs reporter, and Kim Yu-mi plays the judge advocate's partner.

The teaser trailer opens with a line from Jang Jae-wook: "We're all connected. Touch one thing, and everything reacts in a chain." Dialogue and scenes from the people tied to the case follow, building tension around the central mystery.

After the BIFAN screening, the cast will take part in a GV (guest visit) audience talk. The festival appearance positions "Speaking Dead" as one of this summer's most anticipated Korean drama premieres, arriving at a moment when domestic genre series are drawing growing international attention.
