Mystery Seongsu Trainees Revealed as GRID Entertainment's New Project
GRID Entertainment has pulled back the curtain on its newest trainees, introducing the aspiring idols through teaser videos and a new documentary after they sparked curiosity with surprise performances in Seoul's Seongsu district.
The rumored six-member group was seen in the streets of Seoul's Seongsu neighborhood promoting themselves and offering audiences a preview of their two unreleased and self-produced tracks. The members were quick to gather attention on social media platforms such as X in which users started researching who the mysterious artists were.
Later on, GRID Entertainment released individual teaser videos introducing trainees Chai Jinxin and Samuel. Chai Jinxin previously appeared on Mnet's "Boys Planet" and "Boys II Planet," while Samuel, originally from Germany, pursued modeling in Korea before beginning his trainee journey. Furthermore audiences found out that the remaining members were Canadian twins Matthew and Lucas, Lee Kibum and Oh Junhee.
GRID Entertainment also revealed their new trainee documentary,"Idol Till I Die." It is set to follow trainees from various backgrounds as they train towards the goal of debuting as idols. The project was co-produced with Black Paper, the production company founded by Yoo Byung-jae, which has previously worked on content for platforms including Disney+ and TVING.
For now, audiences seem intrigued as to who this new group will be and how the documentary will overlap with the recognition that they have begun starting to form for themselves or if it will be an entirely different set of trainees.
