Super Junior's Leeteuk, Shindong Join 5th-Gen Idols for ENA's 'The Prince and the Pauper'
Set against the ancient landscapes of Egypt, the seven-day, six-night program follows a group of K-pop idols competing for the title of "prince" in a winner-takes-all format. The cast member who wins each round enjoys the perks of royalty, while those who lose are cast as paupers and assigned missions throughout the trip.
A teaser released on the 29th shows the cast traveling across pyramids, the Sphinx, desert dunes, ancient temples, and the Red Sea. The footage moves between beach scenes, local markets, and desert challenges, setting up the contrast between luxury and hardship that drives the show's premise.
The short teaser leans into competition, cutting between members switching between prince and pauper status. The push for victory and the off-stage personalities the idols reveal along the way are early selling points.
The cast brings together male idols from different K-pop generations. Alongside Leeteuk and Shindong, who are in their 21st year since debut, the show features DAWN, Kim Yo-han, NCT 127's Johnny, and NCT DREAM's Jisung. The mix of personalities and career stages is positioned as one of the show's main draws.
"The Prince and the Pauper" premieres July 27 at 11:15 p.m. KST on ENA.
