TREASURE's Junkyu to Take Hiatus for Health, Fans Show Support

TREASURE member Kim Junkyu will temporarily suspend activities to focus on his health, with YG Entertainment announcing that the singer will take time off to rest following the group's recent comeback promotions.

The agency said Monday that Junkyu had continued participating in activities despite experiencing health issues, but after discussions with both the company and those around him, it was decided that he needed time to recover fully.

As a result, Junkyu will not take part in TREASURE's upcoming schedules for the time being, including the filming of the promotional video for the album track "DANGER." YG Entertainment asked fans for their understanding and said both the members and the company would support his recovery until he is ready to return.

Junkyu also shared a handwritten letter on Weverse, where he spoke openly about his decision. Looking back on the six years since TREASURE's debut in 2020, he thanked fans for their continued love and support, saying every moment with them had felt "like a miracle."

He admitted that while constantly pushing himself to give fans his best, he had gradually lost sight of the negative signals his body and mind were sending. Although he tried to carry on as if everything was fine, he realized he needed to pause and focus on himself.

Junkyu apologized for worrying fans with the sudden announcement, but said he believed taking a break now was the best way to return in a healthier state. He promised to spend the time resting and organizing his thoughts before coming back.

Fans responded with messages of encouragement across social media, with many saying they had noticed he looked increasingly tired throughout the latest promotions. Others pointed to his emotional comments during TREASURE's recent fan concert, in which he apologized for not always being in his best condition. Many praised him for completing the comeback despite his struggles and expressed hope that he takes all the time he needs before returning.
