CORTIS Targeted With GPS Tracker, BIGHIT MUSIC Takes Legal Action
CORTIS' agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, has announced legal action following the repeated invasion of privacy targeting the group. The company revealed that some individuals allegedly attached a small GPS tracking device to a vehicle which carried the group and followed the members during overseas schedules.
In an "Artist Protection Rights" update released through the group's Weverse channel on June 29, the agency stated that it will continue to file criminal complaints based on the ongoing monitoring and fan reports. Furthermore, BIGHIT MUSIC also added that it will pursue all available legal measures without any possibility of settlement or leniency.
This comes after CORTIS' latest schedule in Paris, France, where individuals secretly attached a small GPS tracking device to a vehicle used by the group. Allegedly using local vehicles and drivers, they followed the members' movements which included private schedules that had not been publicly disclosed before.
Various attempts to disrupt the group's privacy were also reported, these included unauthorized entry into private areas such as hotels, their parking facilities, waiting near their accommodation and even following members to undisclosed locations. Also, at airports and onboard flights, some individuals went as far as trying to approach and photograph the members without permission. To this, BIGHIT MUSIC stated that security personnel made sure to intervene and issue warnings on-site to the said individuals.
The company added that it had previously filed criminal complaints back in May against accounts which were suspected of illegally trading the group’s flight information, with the investigations on these cases currently underway.
Due to the fact that the majority of the CORTIS members are still minors, BIGHIT MUSIC said they are treating the matter with the utmost seriousness and continues to review legal action against anyone who spreads false claims. "We place the highest priority on protecting the safety and privacy of the CORTIS members," the agency said. "We will continue doing our utmost to ensure they can safely carry out their upcoming tour and future activities."
