ILLIT's Wonhee Stars in TWOSOME PLACE's New 'Abak' Dessert Campaign
Dessert café chain TWOSOME PLACE has rolled out its summer campaign starring ILLIT's Wonhee, built around the brand's signature spoonable dessert "Abak." The company released the full ad, titled "Abak Is Abak No Matter What You Do With It," this week.
The campaign centers on "Spoonable Abak," the chain's best-known dessert, and the idea that fans can mix and match it any way they like. Under the main slogan, the spot leans on bright, fast-cut visuals to sell one point: any combination works.
Wonhee carries the ad with the kind of bright, playful energy ILLIT has built its image on. Different Abak recipes flip past in rhythm with the edit. Desserts and drinks gather around her in each shot, making the "build your own" message land without a single line of explanation. Her voice-over, a quick "anything works for me," ties the spot together.
The ad leans into a trend that has been spreading on Korean social media, where fans customize and pair café desserts in their own ways. TWOSOME PLACE pulls that behavior into the campaign directly. One sequence pairs Abak with an Americano. Another adds a latte. Others stack on toppings, all shot in clean, stylized visuals.
The spot also highlights two new summer items, "Spoonable Choco Crunch Abak" and "Spoonable Strawberry Choco Crunch Abak," part of a lineup the brand is expanding to match shifting customer tastes.
"This campaign was designed to show, in a more playful and stylish way, how customers are pairing Abak with the drinks they like and creating new recipes of their own," a TWOSOME PLACE representative said. "We expect Wonhee's bright, lovable charm and the rhythmic editing to make it fun to watch." The representative added, "We hope people enjoy finding their own combinations with Abak this summer."
The "Abak Is Abak No Matter What You Do With It" campaign will run across cable TV, digital platforms, OTT services, and TWOSOME PLACE locations nationwide. The franchise headquarters is covering the full media spend, a move the company framed as support for franchisee sales and shared growth.
Starting June 12, stores nationwide will also serve a limited menu item recommended by Wonhee herself: "Abakgato," made by pouring a shot of espresso over Abak.
