JUNNY Wraps First Seoul Solo Show, Debuts 'Heaven Can Wait' Live
R&B artist JUNNY held his first solo concert in South Korea, performing more than 20 songs at a Seoul stop on his ongoing world tour. The show, titled "DJ Soulscape Curated 29 JUNNY," took place on Saturday at Hyundai Card Understage in Seoul's Yongsan district.
The concert marked both his first headlining show at home and the Seoul date of the world tour built around his second studio album, "null," released last year. JUNNY worked through the set with live vocals and choreography for a crowd of fans who had been waiting for a hometown show.
He opened with the album's double title tracks, "SOUR" and "Energy." He then performed "Heaven Can Wait," his new single released on Thursday, on stage for the first time, along with its choreography.
For the Seoul show, JUNNY re-arranged the full setlist for a live band. The set included an acoustic version of "Thank You" and a remixed take on "Here We Go Again," reworking songs fans already knew. He also performed "~할때만," a track he recently joined as a featured artist, and tied several album cuts together as a medley.
Two longtime collaborators joined him as guests. Vocalist Seori took the stage for "Next To Me," and SOLE performed "Complications" with him as a duet.
The show leaned heavily on audience interaction. Fans sang along to "MOVIE" and "INVITATION," and joined in on the encore, "Weight of Time."
Fellow artists in the crowd included WJSN's Dayoung, Aile, Junggigo, Dive Studios, and BTOB's Peniel. Dancers who appeared in the "Heaven Can Wait" music video, including Noze and Hyunse, also attended and shared moments from the show on their personal social media.
JUNNY released the digital single "Heaven Can Wait" on Thursday. The song captures the feeling of a night good enough to put heaven on hold, and its restrained, polished sound and visuals have drawn attention from overseas listeners.
After stops across Australia, Europe, North America, and Asia, the Seoul show brought the "null" tour to 27 cities. JUNNY is set to continue the run in August with three dates in South America.
