Byun Yo-han, Ahn Jae-hong and Ha Yun-kyung are coming back with a new film
A new Korean mystery film from director Huh Jung has locked in its cast and started shooting. Byun Yo-han, Ahn Jae-hong and Ha Yun-kyung are confirmed to lead "Sonn Eomneun Nal," which began production on the 14th after wrapping its script reading. The production team also released the first reading stills from the cast that day.
"Sonn Eomneun Nal," which translates as "The Day Without Bad Spirits," is a mystery film built around a single day. The story follows Woo-jin (Ahn Jae-hong), who is preparing to move into a new home on a date considered the most auspicious in Korean tradition. When his wife Hee-yeon (Ha Yun-kyung) begins showing strange signs, the couple meets Tae-ju (Byun Yo-han), a shaman who tells them she must accept a spiritual calling.
Byun Yo-han plays Tae-ju, a skilled young shaman trained under a senior spiritual master. Tae-ju appears in front of Woo-jin and Hee-yeon as they face events they cannot explain. The role follows Byun's recent work in "Pavane: For A Dead Princess," "Following" and "Hansan: Rising Dragon."
Ahn Jae-hong takes on the role of Woo-jin, a lawyer who only believes what he can see. Even as strange things unfold around him, he tries to solve the situation through reason and logic. This marks his first time working with Byun Yo-han. Ahn most recently appeared in the film "Hi-FIVE" and the drama "Mask Girl," and made a special appearance in the film "The King's Warden."
Ha Yun-kyung plays Hee-yeon, Woo-jin's wife. She sits at the center of the mystery as she experiences the events that drive the story. Ha is known for grounded, detailed performances in the film "Concerning My Daughter
" and the dramas "Undercover Miss Hong" and "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."
Director Huh Jung, who previously made "Hide and Seek" and "The Mimic," is behind the camera. He is known for pulling tension out of ordinary spaces, and there is real curiosity about the mood he will bring to this one. The film is produced by A-Lister Studio and BA Entertainment.
"Sonn Eomneun Nal" is a main investment and distribution title for CGV Pictures, the company's newly launched arm that entered the investment and distribution business in 2025. After expanding into the field, CGV Pictures is also preparing to release "Okay Madam 2" later this year.
The film started shooting on the 14th and is currently in production.
